September 6th, London, England: Keynote Talk and Breakout Session on a Future Beyond the Mental Health System
Demedicalized, Reconnected, and Rehumanized: Towards a Future Beyond the Mental Health System
In her talk, Laura will share about what it was like to become a “good”, “compliant” psychiatric patient over the course of fourteen years, why and how she decided to un-become one, how her personal experiences getting lost in and finding her way out of the mental health system have led her to work towards a future beyond “mental illness” and “mental health”, and what she envisions that rehumanized future might look like.
Laura's presentation is a part of a much bigger, exciting day of speakers and workshops exploring a culture beyond psychiatric diagnosis, organized by A Disorder 4 Everyone. Registration is required. For additional information about the day and to register, click on the link below.
